Mitsou is the story of loving (and losing) a pet cat written by 13 year old Balthus who did the 40 ink drawings. The preface is by Rainer Maria Rilke. The boy gave the illustrations to his mother’s lover,  Rilke, who wrote the preface and got the book published by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1984.
