In 1905, George Bernard Shaw received a piece of fan mail from an aspiring playwright initially known only as "Miss Charming". Miss Charming was Erica Cotterill a 24-year-old lady. Her letter led to a flirtatious correspondence between the two that. Erica moved closer to Shaw and one day, 7 years after first writing to him, she showed up on his doorstep. Shaw's wife Charlotte answered the door and later wrote a letter to Miss Cotterill.
