Please Don’t Make Your Child Read Hemingway
At first I thought this trend in children’s literature was a joke: literary classics reimagined as picture books that even 5-year-olds can understand. Companies like KinderGuides, BabyLit, and Cozy Classics are releasing “cheerful” and “bright” and “breezy” versions of books such as On the Road and The Old Man and the Sea and War and Peace—and they’re just perfect for babies!
