“Harriet the Spy,” the beloved 1960s-era children’s book that still inspires kids everywhere, features a gifted 11-year-old girl with absentee parents who was raised by her nanny in a stately old brownstone on the Upper East Side.
Now the property that reportedly inspired Harriet’s fictional home is on the market.
