Ray Bradbury Wrote Fahrenheit 451 on Coin-Operated Typewriters



Ray Bradbury began writing Fahrenheit 451 in his garage but found everyday family life distracted him from his work. He ended up writing the first draft of the book on coin-operated typewriters in the  basement of UCLA’s Powell Library. They charged 10 cents for every 30 minutes for a total of $9.80.
