The other day my husband (aka The Hoarder) produced a book I haven't seen in decades. I have no idea where he's had it stashed all this time and I don't ask. When I was a child we lived in a francophone area with no anglophone library and English-language books were in short supply. I was always a bookworm and would read the few books I had over and over again. This was a favourite. Looking at it now it seems like advanced reading for a Grade 2 student and I remember putting my own pronunciation on the Gaelic names.
